I just got my masters in finance from a good school. How far am I from making atleast 150K?

I have decent experience (3-4 years) in the finance field. How long will it take me to make that kind of money? How often do
finance people make that kind of money?

I made $150K all in with bonus the year I graduated from undergrad. Times are tighter now though.

What do you want to do in the finance field? And what is your work experience background in finance? It’s all a factor of where you get in.

For example. A first year banking associate makes $95K, then has a $50-60K sign on bonus and year end bonus. So they would make that kind of money.

How good of that school? If it is a top 10 in the area, you should not be worried. You should try to get CFA as well. It will help a lot. Consulting company will give you that kind of money.

depends on what you consider a good school and what your experience entails. 150k in the banking, pe, hedge fund world is easily doable. accounting, ops, and other back office functions may take much longer. in addition, you need to take into account geographic salary adjustments.

“Finance” is a very broad term. There may be 10,000 different job descriptions that you could classify as being in the “finance” field. If you don’t already know someone that is making the money you want, then you are probably a long way from there. First, you need to identify the job you want.

Your question is too broad and unclear !!
Please state what you mean by “decent experience” ?
What is the field in which you are employed ?
What is your level of Exposure ?
Unless details are available, any answer to your question will be hypothetical and far from reality !!!
