I am preparing to graduate college in may of 2008 and I am wondering what a 1st year finance major can expect there first year out. I have a 3+ GPA and I want to become and investment banker, any suggestions would be welcomed. My area of finance is corporate finance.

I want to pursue a global career in Finance & Accounting. I already have a BBA degree in Finance from local University. Its not good enough.I hard there are some opportunities like ACCA, CFA that gives better competence and winning edge in case of getting JOB In internationally reputed organization. I want to work in investment banking/ finance after college, and was wondering if Computer Science would be a good quantitative major for an undergraduate degree.

Ultimately, I want to get an MBA right after or at least a Masters of Finance degree before I start working.

So, I decided instead of going for my accounting degree, to switch up and make my major business finance. I know Im going to get my bacholers in that, but I was wondering if there is a significant difference in salary with someone having a bachelors vs. a masters degree? How much can a person in business finance make with a master’s degree starting off? Also is it worth it to move forward and go for the masters? Thanks for the help!

Hi, i plan to study Bachelor of Finance at Australian National University, however i have to choose to major in either of “corporate finance and investment management” or “quantitative finance”. From what i udnerstand, corporate finance is more theoritical and has to do with business financing while quantitative finance has to do with math. could someone tell me more about both subjects? what kind of job can you get after studying each of these?

FYI I have a very strong mathematical background but i dont like computer programing. I did very well (not bragging) in all the other subjects in highschool as well. I do have interest in math but i want to study somehting that would help me secure a gd job. what do you suggest?
